Golf is typically played in different ways depending on the players’ agreed type.

In match play, one golfer or a team of golfers play in a tournament and compete with one another. The team who wins the most number of holes wins the competition.

Stroke play, on the other hand, is played differently where the player has to set the golf ball into the respective holes with a fewer numbers of strokes. Fewer strokes before putting the ball into the hole will mean winning the game. This is the game as played by most recreational golfers who are just out to enjoy a good game and some exercise with their friends or club mates.

Since its inception, golf has been the world’s most elegant sport. The rules and the discipline entailed in every golfer is the main reason why the game is considered to exude sheer combination of style and sportsmanship in the game.

However, golf will not be complete without its basic components. These things are used to facilitate the process of playing the game.

Among all the ball games around, golf has been perceived as one of the most difficult. The reason lies in the many talented and well-known golfing sportsmen around which suggests that the game leaves no room for novices or people who just want to have an interesting way of getting some exercise in the fresh air.

 Valid a reason as it may seem, the game in fact is not as difficult as one is led to believe and is really as easy as 1, 2, 3. However, just like any other games available, understanding the rules of the game, all the significant terms associated with the game, and the tactics by which you can earn that golf score you long for and you will surely hit the ball like a pro – eventually – if that is your aim.

 Golf can be a pretty demanding game. It wouldn’t be so interesting if it was too simply would it?

It is demanding because anyone who wants to be an expert golfer, or at least be considered as a golfer, should first educate himself or herself about the concept of this particular sport, the language, the rules of the game, and the conditions of the environment where the game is played.

For this reason, experts say that it is extremely important for every golfer wannabe to familiarize him/her self with the different aspects of golf, one of which is the golf course which we will look at first.
